Lee's forces; and letter (7 Apr. 1863; 2 p.) written to Maj. Gen. Arnold Elzey asking him to advise Gen. Henry Alexander Wise to "not pass Yorktown any considerable distance with his entire force unless he finds that he will be doing so to draw out the Force at Yorktown."
